different

Do you ever just feel like you are different? I have always felt a little different from everyone else but being different is good because everyone is different. What would the world be like if we were all the same. Right?? Well lately I have felt like I do not fit in with anyone that I know. That I have nothing in common with even my friends that I talk to all the time. No one that is in my circle is even in the same place in life that I am in. They are married, have kids, have jobs that are careers, have their great little families and do not live with their parents.

All throughout life it has never bothered me that I was different form others but I guess in the long run I was never different or if I was was at least in the same place or within the same block of life. But now for the past few days that seems to be the only thing that I can think of. Especially since I have been hanging out with my best friend and her son. I want more that anything to fall in love, get married, have children and have a career where I think that I am making a difference in the lives of others and loving doing it everyday.

I am 28 almost 29 and feel like I have no direction and am in a huge hole and cannot get out. I know that I do not need to worry that I need to hand everything over to God but it is so hard. I just do not want to live to have regret. It terrifies me that as everyday passes I think that I could be ok with not having a husband or kids. I do not know if I am really ok with it or I just keep telling myself that to make me feel better that I am almost 30 with nothing going for me.

Ok well that is enough about that! I just had to get that off my chest!

Love yall

It is June!

Today was so much fun. I had the day off from work and went to lunch with Peggy and then we went and saw the movie The Bridemaids! It was HilAriOuS!! Now it was totally filled with F bombs but I do not think that I have laughed like that in a movie in a ling time.

I also had some great sleep with the rain this morning. I am really liking my job and am really loving being in the medical field. What was crazy was one day I knew literally 97% of all the people that came into the clinic. I have joined Gold's Gym again and am loving it. Had my first body pump class and it felt awesome to sweat like that and have those muscles sore and hurt from being worked. Tomorrow it is 6am spin class!!

I have totally got to get back into studying my bible and journaling and getting that back into my life because have that close relationship with God is what makes me happy no matter what and I am totally needing that. Tonight I got to talk with a friend who moved to Qatar and I cannot wait to hear sometime if and when I get to go.

If I could I would get on the 15 hour plane ride tomorrow!!! Well I better let yall go because 6am is going to come early!

love yall!

Good Times!

Summer is my absolute favorite time of year!! I love the Sun, Swimming, the Beach and the smells of summer! Watermelon, Strawberries, Sunblock, the pool and something cooking on the grill. I am excited that I have been able to be poolside yesterday and today!! Tomorrow is my last day at the daycare! I will definitely miss the people I work with and when the kiddos are sweet!!! However I am very excited about moving onto this next chapter in my life!! St. Joseph here I come. I am down 10 pounds and cannot wait for it to be another 10 to that.

Larry and I are going to lunch today and then we are going to hang by the pool and catch a great tan. This past Saturday the 3 beach lovers (Andrew, Sybil and I) headed to Galveston for the day. It was only about 2.5 hour drive which was not bad at all. We had so much fun! We will definitely be going again. I know that Galveston is no Gulf Shores, Panama Beach etc. It was more than awesome to just sit in my little chair on the beach, watching Andrew Boogey Board his little heart out was just great! I am so excited to have been able to spend time with my family.

love yall and talk to yall soon!!

This weekend we are going to San Antonio!! Goal=scrubs!

Goals and the Biggest Loser

I absolutely love the Biggest Loser!! As being on my own weight loss journey it is a big inspiration to watch the show and get great tips. This is something that my sister and I are embarking on together. This is something that I have to do for myself. I also have to realize that I can do this and that God will guide me through this and he will give me the strength and drive to get to my goal weight of 110 pounds. My ideal weight for someone my height is 97-124. I know that he is right along side me and will get me through this incredible journey. I want to be able to love myself and be able to wear something sleeveless or just anything cute and feel cute and beautiful. I never want to be told again that I have a pretty face! I want to be beautiful inside and out form head to toe and honestly feel that way. I am going to take a tip from Jay on the biggest loser and write my 110 on my wrist everyday so I can look at it and see if before I make a choice so I can ask myself is this choice going to help me get to 110!?!?!? As of today I am down 8 pounds and excited because you have to start somewhere!!

On another note I am so excited to go on Friday and fill out all of my paperwork for St. Joe's. I love not having to look for a job. On saturday Sybil, Andrew and I are going to Galveston for the day. I know that it is Galveston which is not all that great but as long as there is Sun, Sand and Waves I am good!!

What a great weekend!

Ok! I totally have to admit that it has been really weird to be on the computer daily and NOT be looking for a job. It is just crazy because that it what I have done since 12/27/10. This weekend has been so great that I am not looking to going to the daycare and dealing with the 2 yr olds tomorrow. It has just been a lot of fun to be around family and friends.

Friday I helped out with painting some posters for VBS and it was A LOT of fun. Larry, Cheryl, Karen and I could not stop laughing. Saturday was spent walking, running errands, sending Jon off to prom, and going to the Starlight Music Concert featuring Aeromyth! It was so great! It was not Aersomith but a great free alternative. Sunday started with another walk, yummy starbucks Coconut Mocha, Church, Freebirds with Andrew, Jess and Logan and then fun at the Pool, and then the church picnic; which was so much fun!!!

Logan was so adorable at the pool he kept telling me and Andrew to look at him and he LOVED LOVED LOVED the slide! He is just absolutely the cutest.

I did not make the best choices when it came to eating this weekend, but had 2 morning walks. Sybil and I are starting to walk in the mornings at 5am! We will see how this goes. This week I am going to follow my points to the T and get in atleast 1 walk a day! I want to feel very confident in my swimsuit and tanktops and fun summer clothes. I know that I can do this because God is totally all in this.

Well I am exhausted! Hope you all had a great weekend too!! TTYL!! PS we are headed to the beach in a few days. I know that we are just going to Galveston for the day but I LOVE THE BEACH! So I could care less! I cannot wait to hear the WAVES!!

Interview tomorrow!

So I have an interview tomorrow at the St. Joseph Express Clinic. I would be one of the office girls. It seems from what I was talking to the lady that it will pretty much be full time but it is also as when needed basis. I will find out more tomorrow. She made it seem that it was pretty much as long as we talk I got it. The only thing is I have no idea what the pay is but also I have been playing phone tag with the people at Messina Hof to have an interview for an Event planning asst. But I figure it will all work out in the end.

Today was exhausting at the day care!!! So a child got so angry because he was told NO when he was hitting at the table that he made himself sick and VOMITTED!! So all day I smelled vomit. It was really gross.

Well I am watching my DVR'd Biggest Loser to get some motivation!! I will talk to yall peeps later!!

It has been awhile!

It has been awhile since I have written!! I have come back from Mexico, have a job, lost 10lbs and have had 2 calls for interviews!!! Mexico was awesome!! It was such a different trip than the others but is was life changing.

Rocks and Sea Glass in Mexico!

Every year that I have been to Mexico has been totally different and there is no way that I can say that one year was my favorite. Every year is uniquely special!!

So yes I do have a job. It is not a career but a job, it is a weekly paycheck. I am working at a daycare! I love kids and especially babies so what a great job! Well yes it is but I have never prayed so much for patience in a single day than when I came to work here. For the most part I am with 15 months to 4yr olds. So it is CRAZY! They are in the stage of pushing buttons, not listening, whining, telling you no, pushing, pinching, more whining and crying! But it seems like when I am just about to scream one of them will come up and give me a little knee hug!! Then that just makes my day. Then on the playground they find rocks (which they are EVERYWHERE) and give to me because they think that they are just so pretty and want me to take home. Even though this is something that I do not want and think I could not do this forever I have thanked God many times to have this opportunity to have this income till something else comes a long.

These are the babies that I got to be with for a few days and loved snuggling with them all!

Paige and Trinity with the AMAZING LEGO TOWER!!

Some of the Rocks in my rock collection that I have been given!

I have also lost 10lbs! Which is very exciting! I am doing weight watchers and am committed to lose 88 total lbs this year. My goal is to reach this 88lb loss by March 1, 2012. So I am down 10 with 78 more to go. I am doing this for ME. No one else! Weight has been a factor in my life since 8th grade when we had to take our height and weight in 8th grade. I will never forget I weighed 107 and thought that was massive and ever since then I can remember weight being an issue. Well what I would not give to weigh 107 lbs!!! Right! It has been a real struggle but I know that I can do this and the only way that I can do this is through the strength that Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit give me. I have learned a lot reading the book "Reshaping it All" by Candace Cameron Bure. LOVE IT!! It talks about making yourself physically and spiritually fit. I would have never thought but the 2 totally go with each other and it works so much better to get physically fit if you are spiritually fit. I am not saying that it is easy! I LOVE sleep, french fries, chicken tenders, ice cream, candy, cakes, cookies, pies so all of that is NOT a recipe for losing weight. This is something that will help me love myself which in return people can only love me if I love myself! I am excited about this adventure of becoming the person that God wants me to be.

I got 2 calls today for interviews!! One at the St. Joseph Express Clinic, and one at Messina Hof. Excited to hear back from them!! I had to leave messages but will hopefully have interviews this week. I am STILL waiting to hear from the A&M Qatar job which is such an amazing experience. The chance to go overseas live there and work there as a Health Educator!! HELLO it has Rebecca written all over it!! Well I have written a lot but am attaching some more pics of recent events!!

One of my favorite spots on my morning walk!

Mexico is getting Close!!

So we leave for Autlan Mexico in just 4 days! I cannot wait until 5am on Saturday when we are pulling out of the Church to head to the airport. I have loved going every spring break for the past 3 years and sharing the hope that God can provide for the people who do not know. I love seeing all of Mexico friends and catching up with them. I know that we are going to have a lot of fun and accomplish what God has for us. I know that he is going to keep us safe in all that is going on in Mexico.

I am going to miss my family and my tootsie and tallulah next week but am beyond excited to get on the airplane and head down south. This Sunday Brother Mike preached on the The Great Commission and it was so awesome to be thinking I am totally living that out next week! WOO HOO Mexico bound in just a dew days!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TOOTSIE!!!!!

Thos blog is dedicated to my Tootsie!!! She is 5 years old today!! She has been the absolute best dog ever! I love her and she has the best personality. She has taught me my love for boston terriers. She was literally the only family I had in Mississippi and she is the reason that I made it so long without family. She was a lifesaver!!

I love my Tootsie!! and she is just like a child!!!

Still no leads but the rejections are coming!!

Still nothing yet! I know that the right one is around the corner! I just wish it was sooner than later. The more I think and pray about nursing school I am thinking that I am definitely going to go get my transcript from SHSU and check into it. But I still need a job so I can I don't know pay for things like my car, cell phone, insurance! All that adult stuff that is no fun.

I am getting VERY VERY Excited about going to Mexico on the mission trip. I have been overwhelmed with the amazing giving hearts of my friends and family with their outpourings of prayer and financial support for this amazing trip. This will be 4th trip that I have taken and it never gets old. I am very excited to see how God is going to use us.

Here are a few pictures of Tallulah post Spay Surgery!!

hmmmmmmm

So you can see these pics and tell that we had an AwEsOmE snow day! We definitely do not see a lot of these in Texas so we took full advantage of it! I have been doing ok on the healthy choices and exercising bit!! I actually did not lose as much of my running stamina that I had thought!! YAY! that was a great surprise.

It is definitely a little different living at home with my parents but it is great to know that I am home. I am still looking for a job and cannot wait to find the right one. I have been thinking and need to think and pray some more about going to nursing school!! I know! right totally crazy!! I have always thought it would be awesome to be a nurse. I would love to be in Labor and Delivery, NICU, Oncology. I talked a little about it with my mom tonight. I will have to take I think 4 pre-reqs, only 1 would be a new class and I would have to take 3 over because I was not a serious student when I took them and got D's!! So there will be a lot of prayers and thoughts going into this decision!

It is kinda funny because I am loving being at home with my fam and friends but am missing my ACS family and my job. I do not miss the Delta but I miss my job, the cancer patients, and the great mission!

love yall!

Madison Gavyn

Mississippi River Bridge! Me and Mal P

So I am so happy to be home with my family!! I have gotten a lot accomplished today!! I am
getting caught up on my Biggest Loser watching, 2 loads of laundry, dishes done, kitchen picked up, gonna cook dinner for the padres, car inspected and new driver's license plus about 4 hrs of job searching via the internet. Also the girls and I went for a great walk this morning.

Today is the start of the new Rebecca that is going to lose 50lbs!! It is going to be hard but I am ready. I am gong to start by giving up Diet Cokes!!! OMG I love me a good ole Diet Coke, or Diet Dr. Pepper or Diet Mountain Dew. But I am going to give them up. I did it for 2 days last week, and well I had one with lunch but am now drinking splenda tea. My sister Sybil and I are going to run/walk/jog and keep each other motivated. I am excited about this journey!!

I had a lot of fun this weekend in San Antonio seeing Kristy and the kids. We went to the San Antonio Zoo which was so much fun!!

Back in Texas with the keys in my trunk!

So today was my last day of work for your American Cancer Society! I cannot believe it!! I am excited about being back with all the possibilities that could be on my horizon! I had so much fun at lunch today with Amanda, Lori, JeanAnn and sweet sweet Mal P. The drive back was not a bad one at all because I had a great audio book to listen to, it is Baby Proof; it is the same author of the Something Borrowed and Something Blue Books!!

So it was awesome to pull up into the driveway and breathe a sigh of relief that I am home!!!!!! Then came the OMG craziness part of all; my mom was helping me get a few things out of my car and I completely LOCKED MY KEYS IN THE TRUNK!!!!!! I cannot believe that at all! So after being really upset and saying a few choice words in front of my mother (for the first time) I called the LOCK DOC!! Just to let you know they are the best! They were only $25, extremely professional and nice.

So I am catching up on some 90210 even though I need to go to sleep because we are leaving the house at 6am to head out to San Antonio for Kristy's birthday celebration. I am so excited because we are going to the Zoo!!!!!! I am pumped!!!!!

Well I will check all of yall later!!

Fun Times in The DELTA!!

So I have been in the Delta today with Beth Abney! She is my counterpart in Greenville!! We always have a lot of fun but get a lot done!! We had to go to the Delta Grind a great coffee shop to check some emails and get some coffee which was oh so yummy. So funny thing we went to go through the car wash before the Relay for Life Committee meeting and we are in the car wash and it kept telling us to move forward and it finally tell us to stop and we do. Then the wash starts and it is totally missing us because it told us to stop too late, so then Beth tries to reverse to get where her car can get washed and OMG she runs into the car wash!!!!!! IT WAS HILARIOUS!!!
Moving and packing is going good!! It is getting bittersweet! I will miss my Mississippi peeps! Beth is staying the night in Jackson tonight before Lobby day tomorrow!! I am trying to get better at this blogging thing!!
Love yall and Blog Later!!

Fun in Ruston with the DePaola's

So I am here in Ruston and am having such a great time!! Something that is way exciting is that there maybe SNOW tomorrow! It has been so great hanging out with great friends. Mia is so cute and is doing a good job potty training!! She is getting so big!!! I remember holding her little 5lb self and snuggling with her. Of course we had to have pizza, Pasquale's homemade pizza!!

Of course it was a family project making Pizza!! Well Maria was eating more of the cheese and tomatoes than went on the pizza. And oh my goodness the pizza was so incredibly good. I am so glad that we have been able to stay such great friends even though we live in different states. I cannot wait to go to Italy this summer with this AMAZING Family!!

Mia has become a HUGE fan of Annie! We have watched about 4 times already but of course non of them all the way to the end. It is TOO cute because she dances and sings along with the movie. It is beyond adorable!!

This is cute little Mia doing her thang! Of course she has to go and get her "stage" which is her little step stool to stand on!! It is just adorable!! I am having so much fun!

Hopefully tomorrow we will have some SNOW pictures!!

love and Blog later!

Mal P, Mal Mal! Oh I will miss you!

Ok so I have decided to kinda dedicate this blog to my friend Mallory Pickering. She is one awesome!!!!! sweet friend. She inspired me to blog a picture a day! Even though she thinks that I HAVE to start on Jan 1st that I now need to wait till next January I am going to start on Jan 6th! So I met Mal when she started at the ACS as a part-time Strides Recruiter. She was so quiet but then you get to know her and she will make you laugh till no end. She is HILARIOUS and I love her. She is such an amazing young woman and I cannot wait to hear all about what God will do in her future. I will miss her more than she will know!!This is one of my pictures of the day! It is me and Mal Mal. I am sure in pure Mal fashion that she will let me know when she reads this that you can only have 1 picture of the day! But you know there are some days that you just may need more!! I love you Mal and will miss you pure amazingness, your great smile, laugh and just your awesomeness!!

I want to say how incredibly excited I am to move home to be back with my family! I am so excited to be there for all holidays, birthdays, baseball games and just for everything. I cannot wait and am just mega pumped!! Work is absolutely NUTS right now trying to get everything wrapped up. Something that made me laugh today is when Sybil texted me asking me if I had started packing......kidding I am a huge procrastinator!!

Tomorrow the AGGIES ARE PICKING COTTON!!! WOOT WOOT!! Look for posts and pics this weekend from the LSU loving DePaola's house in Ruston!!

2011 the year to BLOG!!!

OK! so it is now 2011!!! I cannot believe it! It just seems like yesterday we were ringing in 2000 thinking that all the ATM's were going to explode money and Y2K. I think that 2011 is going to be a great year. First thing in January I am moving back to TEXAS!! I am very excited to get back to my roots and my family. I absolutely love my job with ACS but not the area that I work and I truly missed my family. I never thought it would have been so hard to be that far away. For a girl who only live 45 mins away during college and was home almost every weekend moving 7+ hours away was a stretch.

It was a good 2 year stint and it gave me some experience that will open doors for me. So I am currently looking for jobs in the Bryan/College Station area; so if anyone knows of anything let me know.

New Year's Eve!! was awesome I got to go to a high school friend's wedding. It was not your typical wedding because she is Hindu. It was extremely interesting and a great experience. It was totally different that your typical Baptist Ceremony. The whole thing was about 3 hrs. It started with the groom processional that was the groom in a horse drown carriage with a portable DJ in the back of the truck that was blaring what sounded like club indian music and everyone was dancing like it was 1999!!! As we finally made it to the ballroom where the ceremony was it was little ceremonies all rolled into one. It was definitely interesting. After the wedding I have to leave to get home for my big New Year's afternoon of hanging with Morgan and little Declan and then my big night with Andrew. Andrew is my 9 yr old nephew who is just awesome!! We went to dinner to Buffalo Wild Wings(his choice)and then we went and saw Gulliver's Travels in 3D. It was so much fun and reminded me how excited I am to be back around family.

During this Holiday Season Texas visit I also got to go to Fort Worth and visit with Jeff, Lori, Lilly and Eliana. They are just a sweet family!! I always forget what amazing people Jeff and Lori are till I hang out with them again. I cannot wait to visit more and see those girls grow up.
So I guess my summary is I am very much looking forward to God's plans for me in 2011!! I am hoping that he leads me to a fantabulous job where he can really use me. I am hoping to blog more regularly! For the first day of 2011 I am going to have a great lunch with my family and then go visit the Steele's and then held to the Swigert Ranch in Caldwell to visit other family. Then I will be Jackson Bound tomorrow.
